The Story Behind India’s First Doorstep Veterinary Diagnostic Services
PVD India provides doorstep multi-species veterinary diagnostic services, delivering reliable results for cattle, buffalo, goats, dogs, cats, and all livestock. We exist because every animal deserves accurate diagnostics — regardless of whether they live in a rural location or an apartment in a metro city.
“Test Early, Treat Right”
PVD: From Idea to Your Trusted Livestock Diagnostics Partner.
In 2019, Pragati Pandey and Vishwajeet Narwade asked a simple question: why should a farmer drive 25+ kilometers to get his cow’s blood tested? Why should a pet owner wait for results that should take 24 hours?
Pragati, an MSc Microbiology graduate and former Research Associate at ICAR-CICR, had spent years working on agricultural diagnostics. Vishwajeet brought a decade of experience from corporate hospitals and public health projects, including his tenure with HLL Lifecare Ltd under the Ministry of Health.
Together, they launched PVD to solve the basic veterinary health care problem. The idea was straightforward: pick up samples from the animal’s location, process them in Dedicated Veterinary labs, and deliver results digitally. No transportation stress for sick animals. No logistics headaches for busy farmers.
Six years later, PVD serves farmers, pet owners, veterinary clinics, NGOs, and stud farms across Maharashtra, Delhi, Hyderabad, Gujarat, Goa, Bangalore, Guwahati, and multiple cities across India. We process over 9,000+ diagnostic tests annually with support from our partner laboratories — Chaitanya Laboratories and Verity Vet Laboratories — two of India’s most reputed dedicated scientific facilities for multi-species. “Test Early, Treat Right”
Our Mission
To make advanced veterinary diagnostics accessible to every farmer, pet owner, and veterinary professional in India — through doorstep sample collection, certified laboratory testing, and affordable pricing. We believe that an animal’s location should never determine the quality of healthcare it receives.
Our Vision
To become India’s largest network of doorstep veterinary diagnostic centres by 2030 — operating in every district where livestock farming drives livelihoods. We envision a future where a farmer in a rural area has the same access to Dedicated veterinary laboratory testing as a metro city.
What We Stand For
Accuracy
Every test undergoes dual verification by certified pathologists. No guesswork, no assumptions — just scientifically validated results.
Compassion
Animals cannot speak for themselves. We treat every sample as critical, whether it belongs to a prize bull or a street-rescued pup.
Speed
Same-day sample pickup. 24–48 hour turnaround for most tests. Because when an animal is sick, every hour matters.
Integrity
Transparent pricing, no hidden charges, no unnecessary tests. We recommend only what your animal genuinely needs.

Rooted in Pune, Reaching Across India
Pune sits at the intersection of Maharashtra’s dairy belt and its growing urban pet care market. Within a 100-kilometer radius, you’ll find some of India’s largest dairy cooperatives in Baramati and Indapur, thriving poultry operations in Junnar, and a fast-growing urban pet population across Kothrud, Viman Nagar, Hadapsar, and Kondhwa.
PVD’s location in Manjari Bk — near the Pune-Solapur Highway — gives us direct access to both rural farming communities and urban pet owners. Our sample collection teams operate daily across Pune metro, while courier-based pickup serves clients in Baramati, Lonavala, Talegaon, Alandi, and Chakan.
For pan-India clients, we arrange temperature-controlled courier pickup and deliver digital reports within 48 hours. Whether you’re managing a dairy herd in Rajasthan or treating a golden retriever in Bangalore, PVD brings certified diagnostics to your location.

Our Story, Mission & Impact
Building India's First Doorstep Veterinary Diagnostics Network
PVD India — Pioneer in Veterinary Diagnostics — began with a problem that millions of Indians live with but few had tried to solve: across vast stretches of the country, there was simply no reliable way to get an animal tested. A dairy farmer with a sick cow, a shepherd with an ailing flock, a pet owner with a feverish dog — all faced the same wall. Quality veterinary diagnostics existed only in a handful of urban hospitals, far away, expensive, and impossible to reach with a large or critically ill animal. PVD was founded in 2019 in Pune to tear that wall down by bringing the laboratory to the animal’s doorstep.
What started as a single office has grown into a nationally recognised, grant-backed diagnostic network serving pets, cattle and livestock across cities in several states. This is the story of how, and why, that happened.
The problem we set out to solve
India is the world’s largest milk producer and home to one of the planet’s largest livestock populations, yet diagnostic access for animals has lagged far behind human healthcare. For a farming family, a single undiagnosed disease can spread silently through a herd and erase an entire season’s income. For pet owners, the absence of accessible testing meant treatment decisions were often made on guesswork. The co-founders saw this diagnostic void firsthand — and recognised that the missing piece was not more laboratories in cities, but a way to collect samples reliably wherever the animals actually are.
A model built around the farm gate and the front door
PVD’s answer was the doorstep multi-species diagnostic model: trained technicians who travel to farms, clinics and homes; sterile collection systems and cold-chain transport that protect sample integrity over long distances; and partnerships with renowned partner laboratories that process every sample under specialist supervision. By removing the need to transport animals, PVD made testing practical for the people who needed it most — and made preventive, early-stage diagnosis affordable enough to become routine rather than a last resort.
Recognition that validated the mission
The model earned serious institutional backing. PVD became a grant recipient of IVRI Izatnagar under the Government of India’s RKVY-RAFTAAR programme, secured the support of the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, and was recognised as a DPIIT startup under Startup India. These endorsements did more than fund growth — they confirmed that doorstep veterinary diagnostics is a nationally important idea worth scaling.
The people and partners behind every report
PVD’s credibility rests on its people. The company partners with Chaitanya Laboratory, led by veterinary pathologist Dr. Akaram Bagal, and Verity Vet Laboratories, co-founded by Dr. Hitesh N. Pawar and Dr. Namita Mitra-Pawar — the latter a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Microbiology, one of the rarest virology credentials in Indian veterinary science. With a team of more than 30 professionals, every diagnostic report is reviewed by a qualified specialist before it is released.
Our impact and where we are going
Today PVD serves farmers, pet owners and veterinary clinics across Pune, Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Goa, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Guwahati, and continues to expand. The mission remains exactly what it was in 2019 — “Test Early, Treat Right” — the conviction that accurate, accessible diagnostics should be available to every animal, in every village and every home, not just in big cities. As PVD grows, that principle guides every new service, every new partnership and every new city we reach.
