Inside PVD India

A Look Behind India's First Doorstep Veterinary Diagnostics Service

This gallery is a window into how PVD India actually works — from a technician drawing a sample at a farm gate in rural Maharashtra, to scientists processing that sample under microscopes in a partner Pune laboratory, to the moment a digital report reaches a farmer or pet owner. We share these images because veterinary diagnostics should not be a black box. When you can see the people, the equipment and the process behind a result, you understand why that result can be trusted.

Every photograph here represents a real part of the PVD diagnostic journey: field collection, cold-chain transport, laboratory analysis, and the community of farmers, pet owners and veterinary professionals we serve every day.

Field collection — diagnostics at the farm gate

The defining feature of PVD is that the laboratory comes to the animal, not the other way around. Our field technicians travel to dairy farms, livestock sheds, pet homes and veterinary clinics across Pune and Maharashtra, carrying sterile VETBLOOD collection systems and cold boxes. This matters most for large animals and for sick or stressed pets, where transport is difficult, risky, or simply impractical. The images of our field team at work show the careful, hygienic technique that protects both the animal and the sample.

In the laboratory — where samples become answers

Once collected, samples travel under controlled cold-chain conditions to our partner laboratories — Chaitanya Laboratory for pathology and histopathology, and Verity Vet Laboratories for molecular diagnostics and microbiology. Here, certified veterinary scientists run clinical pathology panels, RT-PCR assays, ELISA tests, cultures and DNA analyses on professional-grade analysers. The laboratory images convey the scientific infrastructure that sits behind every PVD report and the specialists who review each result before it is released.

The community we serve

PVD exists to serve a community — the dairy cooperatives whose livelihoods depend on healthy cattle, the pet families who treat their animals as members of the household, and the veterinary clinics that rely on accurate diagnostics to treat their patients. Many of the photographs here capture that human side of animal healthcare: the trust between a farmer and a technician, the relief of a clear diagnosis, the partnership between PVD and the veterinarians who extend our reach across the state.

Why we document our work

Transparency builds confidence. By openly showing our collection technique, our laboratory partners and our field operations, PVD invites scrutiny and holds itself to a high standard of transparency in veterinary diagnostics. We encourage prospective clients — whether a single pet owner or a large livestock operation — to look closely at how we work. The quality you see in these images is the quality you receive in your report.

The cold-chain journey from farm to lab

One part of the process that rarely gets photographed elsewhere — but which determines whether a result is accurate — is the journey a sample takes after collection. PVD’s images of cold boxes, labelled tubes and transport handling illustrate the cold-chain discipline that keeps biological samples viable from a remote farm to a Pune laboratory. Temperature control, prompt transport and unbroken chain-of-custody are what allow rural diagnostics to match urban standards, and we document them so clients understand the care behind every report.

A growing visual record of impact

This gallery grows continually as PVD reaches new districts, expands its herd-health monitoring, and partners with more veterinary clinics across Maharashtra and beyond. Each new image adds to a visual record of what doorstep veterinary diagnostics looks like in practice — the technicians, the scientists, the animals and the farming and pet-owning families served. Together these photographs tell the story of a service built on competence, hygiene and genuine care for animal health, from the farm gate in rural Maharashtra to laboratories in Pune and onward across India.
